Editorial Policy

This page explains how the articles on this site are made. It applies to every article and guide we publish, so the notices below are not repeated on each one.

Who writes

Articles are signed by Drew Ramsey, who leads ACIT, and he is responsible for what they say. Each article is planned, checked and edited before it is published.

Our interest

We sell website services: design and build, management, redesign and migration, and SEO and AEO. Our articles are about the decisions those services involve, so we have a commercial interest in the subjects we write about, and you should read what we say with that in mind.

  • Articles may end with a link to the related service. That is the only promotion in them.
  • We say when you do not need an agency, when doing the work yourself is reasonable and when a website builder is the better choice, because advice that always ends in “hire us” is not advice.
  • We do not accept payment for coverage, reviews or links, and no article on this site is sponsored.
  • We do not use affiliate links. If that ever changes, the link will say so next to it.
  • We do not name or criticize other agencies. When we compare platforms, the facts come from their own pricing pages and documentation, linked so you can check them.

How we use AI

We use AI tools to help with research, outlines, first drafts and proofreading. They do not decide what we publish. Every article is edited by a person until it says what we mean, and every fact, figure and quotation is checked against its original source before publication. When we cannot verify something, we leave it out.

Sources

Facts and figures are linked to their source, and articles end with a list of the sources used. We prefer primary sources: official documentation such as Google Search Central and WordPress.org, platforms’ own help centers and pricing pages, and named studies and surveys. Where a figure depends on the date, such as a price, we say when we checked it.

No invented examples

We do not publish made-up client stories, testimonials or results. When an article needs an example, it is described as an example.

Updates and corrections

Platforms change their prices and features often, so we review our articles regularly. Every article shows the date it was last updated, and we change that date only when the content has actually changed.

If you find a mistake, write to [email protected] with “Correction” in the subject line. We correct factual errors promptly, and when a correction changes the meaning of an article, we note what changed at the end of it.
