Website Redesign and Migration

A new design, or a move to a new host, domain or platform, with every old address redirected so your traffic and leads come with you.

When this is the right service

Some sites need a new design. Some need a new home: a different host, a new domain, or a move off a website builder onto WordPress. Many need both. What they have in common is risk: a redesign or a move is the moment a site is most likely to lose search traffic, break forms or take email offline. This service is built around avoiding that.

What we do

  • Secure the accounts first. Before anything changes, we check that the domain, DNS, hosting, Search Console and analytics are in your name, and help you fix it if they are not.
  • Back everything up. A full backup of the current site, stored where you control it.
  • Audit what works. We find the pages that bring in search traffic, links and leads, so the new site keeps them.
  • Map and redirect. Every old address gets a new one, with permanent redirects in place on launch day. Google recommends keeping redirects for at least a year, and we leave them in place.
  • Protect email. When DNS moves, we copy every record your email depends on.
  • Rebuild or move. A new design on standard WordPress, or a move of the existing site, tested on a private copy before the switch.
  • Launch and watch. Indexing switched on, sitemap submitted, forms and analytics tested, then monitoring for the following weeks so problems are caught early.

Leaving a website builder

If your site is on Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy’s builder or another hosted platform, moving to WordPress gives you a site you can take to any host. Not everything exports cleanly from every builder, so we check early what can be moved automatically and what has to be moved by hand, and we tell you before the quote. Our guide on how to migrate from Wix to WordPress shows what is involved for the most common case.

What you own

At the end of the project the new site, the domain, the hosting and every account are in your name. That includes cases where they were not before: if a former provider controls your domain or hosting, getting them back into your name is part of the work.

Read before you decide

The guide to website redesign helps you decide whether you need a redesign at all. The website redesign checklist and the website migration checklist list every step, and you are welcome to use them with any provider.

Frequently asked questions

Will I lose my Google rankings?

Some movement during a site move is normal, and Google says a small to medium-sized site can take a few weeks to settle. Lasting losses usually come from missing redirects, which is why mapping and redirecting every old address is the core of our process.

Can you move a site that someone else built?

Yes. Who built the site does not matter. The first step is making sure you control the accounts.

Do you need to redesign my site to move it?

No. A host move or domain change can keep the design exactly as it is. If you are leaving a builder, the design has to be rebuilt on the new platform, but it can stay close to what you have.

Will my email stop working?

It should not. Email depends on DNS records, and we copy them before any change and test sending and receiving on the day.

Planning a redesign or a move?

Tell us where the site is now and where you want it to be. We will reply with questions or a written quote.
